PURPOSE: A method and a device for controlling printing of a printer driver embedded printer are provided to automatically install or remove a printer driver by recognizing connection if a printer is connected or disconnected to a computer through a communication interface having a plug-and-play function or a hot plugging function. CONSTITUTION: The first storage(124) stores the printer driver fit to the printer(120), decodes the data received from the computer(110), and stores the decoded data as a printing data. The first controller(122) controls overall operation of the printer and controls the first storage to transmit the printer driver to the computer through a two-way communication tool(126) of a printer side if a printer driver upload request signal is received from the computer. The second storage(114) stores the printer driver uploaded from the first storage, converts the printing data into an image file, and stores it. The second controller(112) automatically uploads/installs the printer driver embedded into the printer to the second storage if the printer is connected to the printer, and automatically removes the printer driver stored in the second storage if the printer is disconnected from the computer.
