PURPOSE: An organic electroluminescence device and a method for manufacturing the same are provided to protect the device from impacts applied from an external source by arranging a cell gap maintaining member between the upper substrate and the lower substrate. CONSTITUTION: An organic electroluminescence device comprises a first substrate; a first electrode layer formed on the first substrate; an organic light emitting layer formed on the first electrode layer, wherein the organic light emitting layer emits light in accordance with the applied signal; a second electrode formed on the organic light emitting layer; a second substrate; seal patterns(210) formed at the peripheral portions of the first and second substrates so as to attach the first substrate to the second substrate; and a plurality of cell gap maintaining members interposed between the first substrate and the second substrate.
