PURPOSE: A method of manufacturing a health supplementary food by extracting Brazil nut containing extra selenium and adding emulsifiers, preservatives or the like is provided. The manufactured food product prevents and treats disease caused by selenium deficiency and can be effectively used as a health supplementary food or a drink. CONSTITUTION: Brazil nut is compressed to extract Brazil nut oil, and the residue is extracted for 10 to 6,000min at 40 to 100deg.C in a hot water extractor. Thereafter, 1L of the Brazil nut oil and the extract of Brazil nut are agitated with 100 to 1,000g of emulsifiers and 100 to 1,000g of preservatives for 2 to 6hr to give a health supplementary food. The health supplementary food is diluted 10 to 1,000 times with water when used for a beverage. The emulsifiers are one of polyglycerin fatty acid ester, sorbitan fatty acid ester, organic acid monoglyceride, polyglycerin fatty acid ester, polysorbate or lecithin. |
