PURPOSE: An image display method and system using a display device are provided to increase a resolution of a displayed image without having to increase a resolution of a display device displaying the displayed image and/or with or without having to increase a resolution of image data used to produce the displayed image. CONSTITUTION: A method of displaying an image includes receiving image data for the image, and buffering the image data for the image. The method further includes creating a frame of the image, and defining a first sub-frame and at least a second sub-frame for the frame of the image from the image data. The second sub-frame is spatially offset from the first sub-frame. The method further includes alternating between displaying the first sub-frame in the first position and displaying the second sub-frame in the second position spatially offset from the first position.
