PURPOSE: To provide a liquid crystal device which can be cured in a comparatively short time and has satisfactory adhesive strength. CONSTITUTION: A liquid crystal display device 100 has a liquid crystal layer interposed between a pair of substrates 10 and 20 which are stuck to each other and a sealant 52 with which the liquid crystal layer is sealed within the substrates. The sealant 52 contains a photosetting component and a thermosetting component and the photosetting component has 60 to 95% maximum curing ratio and the thermosetting component has 60 to 90% curing ratio.
