PURPOSE: A disc compatible recording/playing apparatus is provided to reduce a thickness of a disc drive while stably loading a disc in the disc drive. CONSTITUTION: A disc compatible recording/playing apparatus includes a tray and a pick-up support plate. The tray has a pick-up transfer hole formed at the center thereof and includes a large recess in which a large disc mounted and a small recess in which a small disc is mounted. The recesses are formed in a concentric circle. The pick-up support plate is located under the tray. A spindle motor, a pick-up and a pick-up transfer device are installed at the pick-up support plate. The apparatus further includes a bare disc tilt maintaining member(100) having a large bare disc support piece(110) and a spring(120). The spring elastically supports the large bare disc support piece. The bare disc tilt maintaining member is provided on the surface of the tray.
