METHOD AND APPARATUS FOR SIMULTANEOUS MEASUREMENT OF ELECTROCARDIOGRAMS AND BREATH WITHOUT UTILIZING BODY SURFACE ELECTRODES

PURPOSE: A method and an apparatus are provided to achieve improved user convenience by permitting measurement of electrocardiograms and breath to be performed even without utilizing body surface electrodes. CONSTITUTION: A method comprises a step of obtaining an approximation signal by applying a wavelet transform to the electrocardiogram signal in which the electric potential difference caused due to breath is reflected; a step of continuously applying the wavelet transform to the approximation signal until the signal corresponding to the predetermined breath frequency band is output; and a step of taking the signal of the breath frequency band as a breath signal. An apparatus comprises an electrocardiogram measurement unit having a conductive fiber patch for contact with the body of the examinee; and a breath signal acquire unit for acquiring a breath signal by applying a wavelet transform to the electrocardiogram signal.
