PURPOSE: A method for continuously casting stainless steel containing high content of aluminum is provided to perform continuous casting safely and produce product of high quality without using of expensive flux by promptly determining the optimum composition for powder added to molten steel in mold in the continuous casting process. CONSTITUTION: In a method for continuously casting stainless steel containing high content of aluminum using mold powder continuously scattered onto molten steel in mold during the continuous casting process as an oxide having constituents of CaO-SiO2-Al2O3-Na2O-F, the method for continuously casting stainless steel containing high content of aluminum is characterized in that composition and physical properties of the mold slag are secured to stabilize continuous casting and improve quality of casting slab by calculating an initial basicity of the mold powder by the following expression, thereby predicting variation of composition for mold slag varied by reaction results of slag and molten steel during the continuous casting process: Target basicity(CaOwt.%/SiO2wt.%)=1.9833x(initial basicity, CaOwt.%/SiO2wt.%)-(0.0117).
