BROADCASTING/COMMUNICATION INTEGRATION-TYPE PASSIVE OPTICAL NETWORK SYSTEM

PURPOSE: A broadcasting/communication integration-type PON(Passive Optical Network) system is provided to receive broadcasting signals and communication signals from ONUs(Optical Network Units), and to transmit subscriber control signals to the ONUs, then to integrate a broadcasting system with a communication system, thereby efficiently supplying a service. CONSTITUTION: An OLT(Optical Line Termination)(400) is connected to the Internet and a VOD server(330), and receives a digital broadcasting signal from a satellite antenna(310) or a digital media center(320). The digital broadcasting signal is an MPEG2 multi-program transport stream. Each ONU(500) receives the broadcasting signal and a communication signal from the OLT(400), transmits the received broadcasting signal and the communication signal to setup boxes(600), receives communication signals from the setup boxes(600), and transmits the communication signals to the OLT(400). Each setup box(600) receives the broadcasting signal and the communication signal from the OLT(400), and transmits a subscriber control signal to the ONUs(500).
