PURPOSE: A thermotherapy apparatus is provided to improve a thermal generating unit, a unit for driving the thermal generating unit and a unit for guiding the thermal generating unit and add a local massage function. CONSTITUTION: The apparatus is disposed on a space of the center part of a mat(10) and includes a thermal generating unit(30), a driving force generating and transfer unit(20) and a guide unit. The driving force generating and transfer unit(20) includes: a reciprocal motor(21); a pair of bevel gears(22,23) engaged orthogonal to each other and interlocking with each other by a rotary power of the reciprocal motor(21); a rotary shaft(24) axially coupled to one bevel gear(23), both ends rotatably supported by a bearing and the entire segments having a flat surface; a movable element(26) vertically moving by a contact shift of a spiral direction for each segment of bearing coupling elements upon the rotation of the rotary shaft(24); and a vertical motion guiding roller(27) disposed opposite to both sides of the movable element(26) and rolling-coupled to a vertical guide rail(28).
