PURPOSE: A paper feeding mechanism using a swing gear and a method for controlling the same are provided to supply a new paper before a previous paper is completely discharged, thereby reducing a pickup interval between the papers. CONSTITUTION: A paper feeding mechanism using a swing gear includes a motor(100), a pickup gear lines(110), a feed gear line(120), a discharge gear line(130), a swing gear line(140), and first and second sensors(151,153). The pickup gear line transmits power of the motor to a pickup roller(111) which picks up papers one by one and supplies the papers to a feed roller. The feed gear line transmits the power to the feed roller which conveys the papers to a scan unit(155) along a paper conveying path. The discharge gear line transmits the power to a discharge roller to discharge the papers to the outside. The swing gear line is mounted on a swing end gear(141) engaged with a driving gear(101), a swing middle gear(143) engaged with the swing end gear, and a shaft(144) of the swing middle gear, and has swing arm(145) formed of three arms and first to third swing gears(146,147,149) mounted ends of the three arms and engaged with the swing middle gear. The first sensor is mounted between the pickup roller and the feed roller on the paper conveying path and driven by the paper conveyed from the pickup roller. The second sensor is mounted between the feed roller and the discharge roller and driven by the paper conveyed from the feed roller. |
