PURPOSE: A flow control mapping method in an ATM switching system is provided to use the best class broadcasting frame as a flow control frame in a glue logic when a switch fabric and a traffic manager support different flow control functions, and to map the flow control functions, thereby performing efficient flow control for data traffic. CONSTITUTION: An ingress glue logic(41-1) loads egress back press information, which a switch fabric(30) does not recognize, into the best class broadcasting frame, among egress back press information transmitted through a data interface or other path from an ingress traffic manager(21-1), and directly transmits the egress back press information to each egress glue logic(42_1-42_n). The egress glue logics(42_1-42_n) map the egress back press information, which is transmitted by being loaded into the best class broadcasting frame from the ingress glue logic(41-1), with fabric back press information recognizable by egress traffic managers(22_1-22_n), and transmit the mapped information to the corresponding egress traffic managers(22_1-22_n) through a data interface or other path.
