PURPOSE: A record-playback system of digital video and audio image is provided to prevent the transmission of transport packet data during the playing by discriminating the time stamp and packet data damage caused by the reading/writing errors and the damage of a storing medium. CONSTITUTION: A record-playback system of digital video and audio image includes a system time clock(STC) counter(101) for generating system clocks, and record-playback parts(102,103) respectively for recording and playing transport streams to and from an HDD(106) according to the system clocks generated by the STC counter. The recording part makes a new format by inserting CRC(Cyclic Redundancy Check) bytes to the transport streams corresponding to a program to store for checking errors of time stamps and data, wherein the new format is downloaded and temporarily stored to a memory(104) via a download FIFO(102f). The playback part reads a transport packet from the memory and transmits the transport packet to an upload rate control part(103e) via an upload FIFO(103a). The input packet is transmitted to an A/V decoder while a bit rate is kept at the time of storing according to a time stamp. A time stamp error testing part(103b) and a data CRC testing part(103c) determine the damage of the time stamp and the transport packet, and stop the series of operation for stopping the transmission.
