摘要 Cyclodextrin derivatives in which at least one of the hydrogen atoms on the carbon atoms at positions 3 and/or 5 and/or 6 of the glucopyranoside (or glucose) units is/are substituted with a carbinol group, i.e. a tetravalent carbon residue with a sec. hydroxyl group, are new. Cyclodextrin derivatives of formula (I) are new; in these derivatives, at least one of the hydrogens on the carbon atoms at positions 3 and/or 5 and/or 6 of the glucopyranoside (or glucose) units is/are substituted with a carbinol group. n = 0, 1 or 2; R = hydroxyl, methyl or -XR5; X = O, S, P, Si, Se or N; R5 = 1-60C alkyl, aryl, alkylaryl or arylalkyl (optionally substituted with hetero-atoms and/or with groups such as carboxylic, sulfonic or phosphoric acid, amine, ether, or groups containing sulfur, phosphorus or silicon), -COR5, -CONHR5, -CSR5, -CSNHR5, or an amino, thio, carboxylate, sulfate, phosphonate or boronate group; R3 = H or a carbinol group of formula R1-C(OH)-R2; R1, R2 = as for R5 (optionally substituted as above and/or possibly with amino acids, peptides, proteins, nucleosides or nucleotides), with the proviso that at least one group R3 is a carbinol group. An Independent claim is also included for a method for the production of (I) by UV-irradiation of (a) a mixture of a cyclodextrin (II) and a light-activatable ketone of formula R1-CO-R2 (III) or (b) a cyclodextrin pre-modified with a light-activatable ketone group attached by a covalent bond.
