<p>The procedure for making a textile preform from layers of filaments in different directions applied to a substrate (M) of a material suitable for stitching, e.g. a synthetic foam, uses two separate needles (11, 12) with threads (P1, P2) to fasten the two ends of each filament section (31, 32) independently to the substrate. <??>The threads are of a different material to the filaments being stitched, either dry or pre-impregnated, and the end of each filament is stitched to the substrate before it is taken across to the other side, the first end being held by its needle until the second end is stitched, so that the filament sections are applied with contact and/or under slight tension.</p> |
