The implant comprises a metallic base (1) having fixings into a part of the limb. The base receives a polyethylene insert (2). The base has a reduced thickness without a peripheral rim and has a profile and fittings engaging complementary fittings of the insert enabling its coupling and angular indexation. The profile (1c) of the base located on the lower side engages with a groove section that has a part (2b) formed in the overhang of the insert under face in order to obtain locking. The base has pins (3,4) able to be engaged in holes (2e) in the insert.
