A device for producing short voltage and current pulses comprises many energy stores (9) connected to an energy source (1) and switching elements (5). The stores are gradated on the basis of a counting, pref. binary, system so that the switch condition is selectively given to feed energy from a selected store to a load (6). An Independent claim is also included for a process for the above device.
