PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a DC-DC converter which can prevent the reverse current of an inductor at a light load and can suppress a ringing noise and reduce the power consumption and enhance the conversion efficiency. SOLUTION: In the DC-DC converter which is composed of switches S1-S4 and an inductor L1, a switching control circuit 10 detects output voltage V<SB>out</SB>and the current I<SB>L</SB>of the inductor L1, and it switches on or switches off the switches S1-S4 so that the output voltage V<SB>out</SB>may keep a desired level, according to the detection result, and when the current of the inductor L1 becomes roughly zero, it switches on the switches S2 and S3, and also breaks the switch S4 on the output side of the inductor L1, thereby, it can suppress the occurrence of a ringing noise by preventing the reverse current of the inductor.
