PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a train existing railroad line detection system capable of reducing cost by a simple means and having high operation rate and high safety. SOLUTION: This train existing railroad line detection system is provided with track circuits 1, 2, a train 10 provided with a train position reporting device on the train, and a logic part 20 connected with start circuits 1, 2 by a signal line 5 and grasping a condition of the track circuits and own train position report from the train position reporting device on the train. Conditions of the track circuits 1 and 2 are monitored by the logic part 20, and existing railroad line count up condition and existing railroad line count down condition determined in advance are checked when the track circuit condition is changed to pass a boundary between the track circuits 1 and 2. The number of trains existing in either of the direction of the track circuit 1 and the direction of the track circuit 2 or in both directions is detected. COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO
