PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a stock for a shadow mask which has excellent tensile strength and magnetic properties, to provide a production method therefor, to provide a shadow mask consisting of the stock for a shadow mask, and to provide a picture tube incorporated with the shadow mask. SOLUTION: A slab having components comprising, by weight,≤0.004% C,≤0.03% Si, 0.1 to 0.5% Mn,≤0.02% P,≤0.02% S, 0.01 to 0.07% Al,≤0.0040% N,≤0.01% B,≤0.1% Nb and 0.0001 to 0.1% Ti, and the balance Fe with inevitable impurities is subjected to hot rolling, pickling and cold rolling. Thereafter, the residual C content is controlled to≤0.003% in a continuous annealing stage or a box type annealing stage. Further, secondary cold rolling is performed at a rolling ratio of 20 to 92% to obtain the stock for a shadow mask. COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO
