PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a detection device for folding and overlapping of a belt of a pipe conveyor capable of immediately detecting that the width end part of the conveying belt is wound around the pulley in folded and overlapped state, avoiding the generation of meandering and twisting of the conveying belt by the promptly performing an appropriate treatment, and preventing the conveying belt from damaging. SOLUTION: The detection device for folding and overlapping of the belt of the pipe conveyor is constituted so that it rounds the endless conveying belt in the shape of a pipe and conveys the conveyed article putting it into the conveying belt rounded in the shape of the pipe.
