A glass for covering electrodes, which consists, as represented by mass percentage based on the following oxides, essentially of from 35 to 55% of PbO, from 15 to 30% of B2O3, from 4 to 15% of SiO2, from 20 to 44% of B2O3+SiO2, from 0.5 to 10% of TiO2+ZrO2+La2O3+Ta2O5, from 0 to 15% of Al2O3, from 0 to 25% of BaO, from 0 to 1% of CuO and from 0 to 1% of CeO2.
