<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To quickly perform copying service by reducing maintenance costs, noises, power consumption, etc. in an image forming device for performing copying service. <P>SOLUTION: In the image forming device provided with respective image forming stations Pa, Pb, Pc, Pd for forming toner images of respective colors and capable of performing copying service by driving respective image forming stations in accordance with an amount charged from a coin vender 100, a copy mode which may be previously set is predicted in accordance with the charged amount in order to attain color copying service based on a color copying mode or monochromatic copying service based on a monochromatic copying mode and necessary image forming stations out of respective image forming stations Pa, Pb, Pc, Pd are set to a stand-by state in accordance with the prediction.
