PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a data conversion server capable of providing a service for transmitting data including an image according to the terminal of a transmitting designation to the terminal of the transmitting designation without performing a complicated work. SOLUTION: A mail receiving part 4 receives a mail transmitted from a transmitter-side cellular phone 1 based on SMTP (simple mail transfer protocol). A control part 5 acquires the model information of a receiver-side cellular phone 3 in reference to the header information of the received mail and a model capability management table, and inputs a mail text and the model information to a character string conversion part 7. The character string conversion part 7 extracts a specified character string that is an object of conversion included in the mail text, and converts the extracted specified character string to an image in reference to the model information and a character string management table. After the specified character string is converted to the image, the control part 5 reconfigures the mail text after conversion according to the model capability information of the receiver-side cellular phone 3, and transmits the reconfigured mail to the receiver-side cellular phone 3 based on SMTP.
