PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain new synthetic polymer-base fine particles and to provide spacers for an electro-optic panel capable of preventing transmission of light in dark portions of a liquid crystal display panel by using the fine particles. SOLUTION: The spacers for an electro-optic panel interposed between at least one pair of transparent electrode substrates to keep a prescribed interval between the substrates are synthetic resin-base fine particles obtained by polymerizing a monomer, in which a manganese oxide-base black pigment is contained and have an average particle diameter of 1-20μm and a coefficient of variation of≤10% in particle size distribution.
