PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To take necessary and sufficient safety measures to accidental fire of a combustion part without mounting an ignition detecting function part of two system on a fan heater having the combustion part performing the combustion by consuming a flammable fuel, and a thermocouple generating the electromotive force in accordance with a temperature of the combustion part. SOLUTION: An operation control means 4 switches and controls the generation voltage of a standard voltage generating means 7 to a standard voltage for determining abnormality, when the voltage from a difference voltage amplifying means 6 amplifying the difference between the TC voltage from the thermocouple 5 and the standard voltage for ordinary state by a specific gain, is within a predetermined normal range, and the combustion part 3 is determined to be in a combustion state. Whether the difference voltage amplifying means 6 is in a normal state or an abnormal state is determined on the basis of the voltage information from the difference voltage amplifying means 6 amplifying the difference between the TC voltage and the standard voltage for determining the abnormality by the specific gain, and the operation of the fan heater 1 is forcibly stopped when the abnormal state is determined.
