PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a rubber composition for a golf ball with an improved impact resistance and an appropriate hardness while keeping an impact resilience. SOLUTION: This rubber composition for the golf ball comprises a base polymer of 100 pts.wt. comprising a mixture of (A) a vulcanizable rubber and (B) a syndiotactic 1,2-polybutadiene(SPB) with a reduced viscosity of 0,1-4 in a mixing ratio of (A)/(B) of 99/1-60/40 by weight, and a co-crosslinking agent of 10-50 pts.wt.
