PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a sheet handling device capable of preventing abnormal stoppage due to a carrier state of a sheet and an image formation device furnished with the same. SOLUTION: The sheet P is carried to sheet loading parts 12, 18 to load the sheet P to handle by sheet carrier means 16a, 16b after an image is formed, and passing of this sheet P is detected by sheet detection means 90, 91 provided on an upstream side and a downstream side of the sheet carrier means 16a, 16b. Thereafter, a control means determines whether the sheet P is normally carried in accordance with detection signals from the sheet detection means 90, 91 provided on the upstream side and the downstream side of the sheet carrier means 16a, 16b and controls this device to stop handling of the sheet P in a case of determining that the sheet P is not normally carried.
