PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve the support of a powder feeder and the rotational drive of a rotary vessel in the powder feeder to be used in a horizontal rotary powder filling and packing machine which forms a bag out of a continuous resin film by heat-sealing and fills and dividedly packs the powder. SOLUTION: A powder feeder comprises a rotary vessel which receives the powder from a hopper, fills it in a measure provided on a bottom plate, and charges the powder in the measure into a chute, a supporter to rotatably support the rotary vessel, and a rotational mechanism to rotate the rotary vessel. The supporter comprises a horizontal arm turnably provided from a feeder body, and a frame body which is fixed to the horizontal arm to rotatably support the outer circumference of the rotary vessel. The rotational mechanism comprises a vessel gear provided around the rotational vessel, and a transmission member which is engaged with the vessel gear to rotate the rotational vessel by a motor. The supporter includes a fixed stay, and the arm is disposed on an upper portion of the stay in a horizontally turnable manner. COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO
