The invention concerns a method for determining bacteria sensitivity (bacteriostatic effect, that is minimal inhibitory concentration or MIC) in cellular medium or in germ-free medium, by assay of a bacterial suspension in the presence or not of an antibiotic tested at several specific concentration levels, by quantitative PCR. In such conditions, a biostatic effect corresponds to a bacterial count after incubation in the presence of the antibiotic not more than the initial bacterial count (or inoculum), whereas a control without antibiotic (growth control) shows gradual increase of the bacterial count in time.
