IMAGE RECEIVING SHEET FOR THERMAL TRANSFER RECORDING AND IC CARD

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image receiving sheet for thermal transfer recording which is formed easily and which enables formation of an image on the surface thereof by diffusing and transferring dye thereon by heating and enables clear printing of a character or the like with a high density by transferring with heat the ink softened and melted, and an IC card using the sheet.

SOLUTION: A heat insulating layer constituted mainly of a polystyrene resin having a glass transition temperature of 55°C or above and a dye accepting layer containing a dyeable resin are laminated in this sequence on at least one surface of a sheetlike substrate constituted mainly of a polyester resin. The IC card has an IC chip provided between paired surface layer sheets and at least a part of the surface layer sheets is the image receiving sheet for thermal transfer recording.
