<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a fuel cell capable of being miniaturized with a generating performance improved. <P>SOLUTION: A gas diffusion layer 6 is structured to divide an entrance manifold 7 and an exit manifold 8 by enabling the entrance manifold 7 and the exit manifold 8 for fuel gas to face their sides 6A, 6B by being pinched by a catalyst electrode layer 6 and a separator 1.
