<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a wavelength conversion LED which can improve a light emitting efficiency using a simple structure. <P>SOLUTION: This light-emitting diode comprises electrode terminals 11b, 11c, an LED chip 12, a reflector 11 having a recess 11a for reflecting lights emitted from the LED chip to an opening part, a sealing resin filled in the recess, and a wavelength conversion material which is mixed in the sealing resin to absorb lights emitted from the LED chip and to emit lights of longer wavelength than that of absorbed lights. The LED chip is connected to electrode terminals in the recess, a conductive reflecting member 21 is arranged almost all over the upper surface of the LED chip so that lights from the junction 12a can be not transmitted but reflectedm, the density of the wavelength conversion material mixed in the sealing resin is higher in the lower side on the border of the junction of the LED chip than the density in the upper side, and/or the wavelength conversion material layer is formed on the inner wall of the reflector having the recess. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO |
