<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method and a brokerage system for dealing in a used personal computer, the functions of which are equal with home page contents if it is purchased, preventing user information of the used personel computers from being exposed to the public. <P>SOLUTION: The brokerage system comprises a server 1a, which connects to terminals 2a and 2b owned by sellers of the personal computers as well as to terminals 3a and 3b owned by buyers of the computers, provides a program to acquire the used personal computer information from the used computer on sale by operating the program on the used computers on sale. The system downloads the program from the server 1a to the terminals 2a and 2b for acquiring the apparatus information of used computers on sale when the system acquires the used personal computer information so that users of the computers on sale can use the information for a sales registration.
