PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve a fuel consumption without imparting a sense of incongruity to occupant auditory sense of a hybrid vehicle.

SOLUTION: A controller 300 includes a circuit for setting high a carrier frequency of an inverter 1200 when an engine rotating speed sensed by an engine speed sensor 250 is low, low when the speed is high, high when a vehicle speed sensed by a vehicle speed sensor 850 is low, and low when the speed is high. When the frequency is set high, a volume of a noise generated due to the inverter 1200 is reduced, and when the frequency is set low, the volume of the noise generated due to the inverter 1200 is raised, and a loss of a switching element of the inverter 1200 is reduced, and hence the fuel consumption is improved.
