摘要 <p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a light source for machining making it possible to form a beam shape of a laser with a large M-value, especially a beam shape of DDL, in a small area on a symmetric shape without shortening a WD, in a light source for machining. <P>SOLUTION: A laser light 3 is output from a direct semiconductor laser 1 oscillating in the wave length of 790-810 nm capable of machining refractory aluminum. This laser light 3 is, allowed easily and at a low cost, to incident and propagated into a waveguide 7 constituted of mirrors 2a, 2b, 2c and 2d whose end surface 6 is smaller in area than the incident end surface 5.
