METHOD AND DEVICE FOR VIRTUAL UNIFICATION OF PLURALITY OF NETWORK STORAGES

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for virtual unification capable of easily increasing the capacity of an installed network storage by adding a new network storage even if the installed network storage does not have the function of virtual unification. SOLUTION: A virtual unification device on the new network storage is provided with a means for reading information on the settings of the installed network storage according to a manager's request to add storage; a means for registering the installed network storage as a member of the virtual unification device; a means for copying the directory tree structure of the installed network storage; and a means for replacing information on the settings of the installed network storage with information on the settings of the new network storage.
