PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a plasma display panel which uses a switching element with a low internal voltage. SOLUTION: First and second switching elements are connected in series between a power source Vs/2 and one end of a panel capacitor and third and fourth switching elements are connected in series between the one end of the panel capacitor and a power source -Vs/2. A capacitor charged with a Vs/2 voltage is connected between contacts of the first and second switching element and contacts of the third and fourth switching elements. Thus, while a -Vs/2 voltage is applied to the one end of the panel capacitor, internal voltages of the first and second switching elements can be clamped to Vs/2 and while a Vs/2 voltage is applied to the one end of the panel capacitor, internal voltages of the third and fourth switching elements can be clamped to Vs/2.
