PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a 6000-series Al alloy forging which yields a reinforcement member stably showing a 0.2% proof stress of≥350 Mpa, even by decreasing its thickness and increasing its strength by increasing amounts of alloying elements, and a raw material for forging. SOLUTION: The forging comprises 0.6-1.8% Mg, 0.8-1.8% Si, 0.2-1.0% Cu, at least one chosen from 0.1-0.6% Mn, 0.1-0.2% Cr and 0.1-0.2% Zr and the balance being Al and unavoidable impurities, provided that mass ratio of Si/Mg is≥1, and has a thickness of≤30 mm at the thinnest part. The surface of the forging subjected to aging treatment shows an electroconductivity of 41.0-42.5 IACS% and a 0.2% proof stress of≥350 MPa. COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO
