PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a safety fence for an escalator manhole of a type stored into a machine room capable of freely changing the enclosure space of the safety fence for the escalator manhole. SOLUTION: A first and a second divided crossbeam columns 3b, 3c which are withdrawn to the floor near the escalator manhole are horizontally fixed using the first and the second divided crossbeam columns 3b, 3c which are withdrawably installed from the inside wall of the machine room arranged under the floor near the doorway of escalator, and a belt column 3a is vertically fixed with respect to the first divided crossbeam column 3b.
