Method for implementing an automatic reverse auction in which a potential purchaser makes a call for tenders available to a number of suppliers via the Internet or e-mail. The suppliers make an offer to the purchaser or a broker. The purchaser is able to update the list of suppliers in a database either by adding a supplier's details or removing a supplier that is not available to him. When a supplier is added, he can then be included in the auction process.
