<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical transmitter which improves the radiating efficiency of heat generated from an optical element package. <P>SOLUTION: A light-emitting element 102 and a driver 103 connected to the element 102 and having a drive circuit for driving the element are mounted in a hermetically sealed optical element package 101. This optical element package is mounted in an optical module package 104 which is not sealed hermetically. A heat pipe 107 provided in a direction parallel to an optical axis 106 for passing the output light of the light-emitting element is soldered 109 to the package 101, and the heat generated in the package is radiated to an external environment via a heat sink plate 108 provided in the package 104. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO |
