<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a portable electronic device for effectively light a liquid crystal panel at a dark place. <P>SOLUTION: The portable electronic equipment 1 comprises: the liquid crystal panel 10 that pinches a liquid crystal layer between a pair of glass substrates 11, 12 having an electrode; and a case 30 having a panel accommodation recess 21 for accommodating the liquid crystal panel 10.
