PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a water-repellent fibrous active carbon knit having high gas-barrier property even in case of being wetted with water or sweat. SOLUTION: The water-repellent fibrous active carbon knit is obtained by activation carbonizing a fibrous polymer precursor, being≥2 in water repellency in the form of a sheet. Another version of the water-repellent fibrous active carbon knit is obtained by converting the fibrous polymer precursor to a filamentous form followed by knitting it and then carrying out an activation carbonization, being 50-250 g/m<SP>2</SP>in bone dry mass and 500-3,000 m<SP>2</SP>/g in BET specific surface area.
