PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To realize a radio base station to be shared by different physical layers, and to efficiently execute retransmission processing in a radio LAN system. SOLUTION: Terminal equipment corresponding to a frequency band A transmits a data packet D6<SB>1</SB>, and the reception of the D6<SB>1</SB>fails in an access point, and then when the terminal equipment retransmits a data packet D6<SB>2</SB>, the access point is switched to a frequency band B, and then the reception of the D6<SB>2</SB>fails. Afterwards, the terminal equipment continues to transmit an RTS each time a CTS stand-by timer expires. In this case, the fact that the CTS is transmitted and any response to this is not detected in the period of the frequency band A is stored, and when it is switched to the accessible period of the next frequency band A, the CTS is preferentially transmitted prior to a beacon signal. The terminal equipment receives the CTS, and executes carrier sense after the lapse of an already decided time, and retransmits a data packet D6<SB>3</SB>.
