PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To normally execute an AGC control and a timing synchronous detection and reduce the power consumption. SOLUTION: A threshold comparator 120 compares the receiving level with a specified threshold in a specified period to output the comparison result to a start signal generator 130. The generator 130 generates an AGC control start signal and a timing synchronous detection start signal for starting operations of the AGC control and the timing synchronous detection if the receiving level exceeds the specified threshold as the comparison result by the comparator 120, and it outputs them to an AC controller 140 and a timing synchronous detector 150, respectively. The controller 140 starts the AGC control according to the AGC control start signal to do an automatic gain control. The timing synchronous detector 150 starts the timing synchronous detection according to the timing synchronous detection start signal. COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO
