PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To retrieve information by using the same retrieving method against pieces of data of a plurality of external information sources. SOLUTION: In the integration type information retrieval system, an external information source searching means 78 reads pieces of data from the external information sources when creating indexes, a data converting means 76 determines whether or not data conversion is necessary with respect to an attribute of an object to be indexed in the data, and if it is necessary, an attribute value is converted. An equation calculating means 75 and an index creating means 77 creates an index and registers it in an index storing part 34 and an index value storing part 35 with respect to the value processed by the data converting means 76. A retrieval equation evaluating means of the information retrieval system carries out specified conditional retrieval of inquiry by index retrieval using the registered indexes.
