PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a fine decorative appearance of the front surface periphery of the body of an instrument which matches with a panel, by a simple construction which does not need any machining of an existing instrument body and a panel to be attached to the instrument body. SOLUTION: A panel instrument is provided with a frame-like plate 6 and a frame-like mask member 7. The frame-like plate 6 covers the front surface of the flange portion 2a of an instrument body 2, has a display portion 3 on the front surface and has the flange portion 2a on the peripheral brim of the front surface, and is fixed to the panel 1 with common fitting screws 5 together with the flange portion 2a.
