PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a nickel based brazing filler metal which is completely free from boron (B) or phosphorus (P) that is likely to form a hard and brittle compound in the brazed layer part, and in which the liquidus is lowered below 1,100°C by adding a small amount of silicon (Si) and which is abundant in ductility, heat resistance and corrosion resistance. SOLUTION: The brazing filler metal comprises, by weight, 5 to 7% Si and 13 to 20% Mn added as melting point depression elements, and 16 to 21% Cr, and the balance Ni with inevitable impurities.
