Electr-photographic toner.. G3B. With good transfer properties comprises pigment, carrier resin, 100-500% on resin of means of facilitating transfer, and 10-50 weight % (of transfer agent) aggregation inhibitor. Toner loss and contamination of apparatus are minimal. Improving transfer properties consists in rendering resin particles viscous. Agent is chosen from aggregation accelerators, including polymers from p-phenylphenol, and formaldehyde, terpene resin, xylolformaldehyde resins, straight-chain hydrocarbon resins, beta-pinene polymers, cumarone-indene resins, naphthenic oils colophonium, mixtures of colophonium esters and process oil etc. Aggregation inhibitors are non-stick substances, improving thermal softening properties, including vinyltoluol-butadiene copolymers, polyvinylbutyral, stearic acid butylester, fatty acid derivatives etc. Preferred amount of transfer-improving agent is 30-60 parts pro 100 parts resin in absence of aggregation inhibitor, 100-500 parts in its presence. |
